Don was probably in the 3rd Marine Division, the details on his headstone will confuse the issue, it states he was with the 28th Replacement Draft, which was part of the 3rd Marine Division, not the 4th Marine Division as his headstone states. Now the 3rd and 4th Marine Divisions shared a cemetery for Iwo, which may be the source of the difference, because I am quite sure the divisions did not receive replacements from other divisions.
